

Christopher Fix : Managing Director, Head of Asia Pacific at CME Group
Christopher Fix serves as Managing Director, Head of Asia Pacific, CME Group. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for leading CME Group’s initiatives to expand its presence in the region, including its partnerships with regional exchanges, delivering a growth strategy, and developing benchmark products and services to meet the needs of current and prospective clients.
In addition to his role at
CME Group, Fix is also a Board Member of Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) and
Chairman of DME Asia Pte Ltd. DME was
launched in 2007 as a joint venture between CME Group, Dubai Holdings and the
Oman Investment Fund.
Before joining CME Group in June
2015, Fix served as Chief Executive Officer of DME since August 2012, where he
spearheaded DME’s strategic development and led the exchange towards closer
ties with oil producers, customers and the financial community, with a particular
focus on its core target market of Asia.
Prior to that, Fix had a highly
successful career spanning 20 years with BNP Paribas, where he served the group
since 1992 and has held several positions in New York, Paris and
Singapore. His most recent position at
BNP Paribas was as Head of Marketing for Commodity Futures, Asia Pacific, based
in Singapore. Before that, he was BNP
Paribas’ Head of Commodity Derivatives Credit, Asia Pacific & Japan,
responsible for providing exchange traded and OTC hedging services to clients
of BNP across challenging credit, legal and compliance jurisdictions in Asia.
An American by birth, Fix is a consummate linguist and speaks
fluent French, excellent Mandarin and conversational Russian.
Fix graduated in 1986 with a bachelors degree from State University of New York at Binghamton, majoring in History and Political Science. He also specialized in Soviet, Russian and Chinese History and Political Science, and published a research paper on the Japanese use of Soviet commodities.
